The Prisoner is about a man that is getting kidnapped from his house in London to a village that is named The Village, where he is only known as Number Six. Different village-bosses who is called Number Two is trying to find out why he quit his job as a secret agent, so Number Six is getting brainwashed and manipulated by the people in The Village. Number Six is desperately trying to get out of The Village.

Different theories on the ending of The Prisoner(this is not my theories, but different theories that I have found on messageboards etc. You shouldn't read this if you haven't watched the series yet, it will spoil the series):

- The meaning of that Number Six is Number One is because we make ourselves prisoners.

- Number Six isnt free after he escapes The Village. He is just another prisoner of society.

- The ultimate struggle is within oneself

- That you can't be free until you know that you are the master of your own mind
